I ♥ Disney

For two reasons in particular. One: The movie "Up" (of course with equal props to Pixar). Saw it last night. I don't feel like doing a review, but let me just say, if you haven't seen it, go. Go now. Do not hesitate to run to the theater to see Up. It was awesome. The second reason? This awesomely trippy movie-The Three Caballeros. Loved it as a kid. Love it now. Seriously, check out this clip. Trippy or what? I especially like the scenes where the live action is mixed in with the animation.

MIA

No I have not been on vacation. No I have not been blissfully unattached to my computer for a week. In fact, I'm been literally attached to her (yes, her) for the last week cramming my head full of HTML, CSS, Actionscript and all sorts of other fun things! For what, pray tell? Check it out for yourself here.

Oh, what's that? It brought you right back to here. Ha ha. Jokes on you. No. seriously. It's on me. What? Huh? I need a nap...

If you wanna make the world a better place...

Grilled Veggieatables

One of my favorite meals this spring and summer has been simple, grilled veggies. They are so versatile! They are shown here in a salad, with a simple balsamic vinaigrette, but I've also been known to eat them in a sandwich with goat cheese, or with eggs. It's such a simple, and eye-pleasing meal. I just gather what looks fresh at the store or market, brush them with a little seasoned butter and oil, and grill them 'till they look done. It's one of my favorite ways to cook veggies. You really can't beat that grilled flavor.

Treasures

Check out the loot I got at the Crown Center Antique fair a couple weekends ago!
I bought these ($25 for all-thanks to the super bartering skills of my friend Emily) to dress up knitted and crocheted pieces I give as gifts (see post below). However, I've been accessorizing my own wardrobe with them ever since. Will I ever be able to part with my finds??

My favorite way to dress up a package or an envelope.

How To Be Grunge

Next weekend, I'm going to a friends 30th Birthday. The theme of the party is to dress up in one of the 4 decades in which said friend has been alive. Our choices: the 70's, 80's, 90's and today (but what fun is that?).

For some reason I've been on a big nostalgia kick lately. I think it's partially due to the fact that it's summer. I yearn daily for the chance to go back to the long, boredom ridden days, fun-filled nights and heavy humid heat of summer. For me, that was back in the era of grunge. I was old enough to know how lucky I had it, yet still young enough not to be burdened with a summer job.

Anyway, for this reason I've decided to go with a mid-90's grunge look. I was sort of on the fence, but then I heard about a pair of Doc Martin combat boots I'd be able to borrow, and I was sold. I did a bit of research today and cam eup with a few lovely images, as well as this totally awesome article on wikiHow.

What do you think? Suggestions? Should I die my hair Clare Danes red?
